On December 3rd 2007 Deon weighed 169 kg. He is 1,86m tall which means his body mass index was 48, 91% (that classified him as morbidly obese). In addition to his weight, Deon was experiencing a myriad of health complications as well, such as heart palpitations, headaches, back pain, sleeplessness, breathlessness, sinusitis, hypertension, and being severely out of shape. Looking back on all these health problems, Deon knew he needed to make a drastic change soon or he would not have many more years to live.
